Founded in 1997 under the aegis of N.P. Goel Charitable Trust, the Institute of Management and Research (IMR) is affiliated to U.P. Technical University Lucknow and Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut. Established to groom budding managers into competent and confident professionals, the Institute offers a range of courses in management and information technology. A candidates will have to opt for specialisation in any two groups listed as A, B,C,D to be known as major specialisation and minor specialisation. For major specialisation a candidate will have to choose all four papers from a group (two papers in third semester and two papers in fourth semester) and for minor specialisation, he/she will choose two papers from a group other than the group opted for a major specialisation (one paper in third semester and one paper in fourth semester).

Computing  : IMR possess an excellent infrastructure for imparting software and hardware skills to the students using latest software development tools and technologies. Computer Center is the heart of any technical Institute so it has to be equipped with the best and latest technology available in the market so that students have first hand knowledge on state-of-the-art systems. IMR has the following hardware configuration in its Computer Center.
(1) IBM Server that supports heterogeneous network configured with Windows NT, LINUX and Windows ME Operating Systems.
(2) HP Server that supports heterogeneous network configured with Windows NT, LINUX and Windows 95/98 Operating Systems.
(3) The present network has 126 workstations, out of which there are :
71 IBM Netvista (P-III Processor at 866 Mhz)
23 HP Brio (P-III at 555 Mhz)
17 Assembled PC's (P-I at 133 Mhz)
15 Assembled PC's (486 at 100 Mhz)
Other than the above configuration, Centre has Hardware Lab for the practicals of Logic gates, Adders, Counters, Registers and other digital circuits. Computer Center procures all licensed softwares required for conducting post-graduate and under-graduate courses. The laboratories offer diversified range of software packages for the purpose of academics, research and development in the are of programming language compilers, database systems, work processing, accounting, Graphics and Information Systems. Every effort is made to keep pace with the technology of Silicon valley.
The licensed softwares available in the center are : WindowsNT/WindowsMe/Windows 95 & 98, Novel Netware/LINUX, Oracle 8.0, Visual Basic 6.0, MS-Office XP, Cobol/Pascal/Turbo C&C++, Visual FoxPro
Internet facility is also available at the center and students can avail this facility round the clock.

Library : Library is the centre for all intellectual and academic activities of the institute. IMR library is well equipped with the latest literature in the field of information technology and management sciences. Students have at their disposal over 5000 books in all areas of management international business and computer science. Besides this, periodicals and journals, both Indian and Foreign, keep the students up-to-date with the latest in the field of information technology and management sciences. Reference section is rich and provide access to a wide range of data base used in project work and assignments. In the coming year, the library structure will be totally computerised and will have more than 10,000 books. It will also catalogue the project work undertaken by the outgoing students which can be used as reference material
