About the Institute :-
The The Faculty of Management Studies of Avinashilingam University was
set-up in 1994 with the objective of grooming young and aspiring women
committed to mould the future of our economy and the country. It is
located at the heart of the city of Coimbatore called "Manchester of
South India". This Institute offers two two-year Post-Graduate
programmes in Business Administration (MBA), with specializations in
Marketing, Finance, Personnel and Systems and MBA IT Organisation
Administration. Besides student-friendly functional infrastructure,
the Institute has developed an effective network with the industry. It
has already placed its nine batches of students in some of the
well-known
industrial houses. The Institute is rated A among the top B-schools of
India. It is also rated high in intellectual capital, industry
interface and governance. The Department of Management Studies has
initiated a collaborative effort with Institute of Finance Management,
Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania for offering offshore programmes in

Eligibility
Any Women Graduates in Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering or
Technology belonging to any University of TamilNadu or from any other
University accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent with minimum
55% of marks are eligible to apply for MBA program. Those who
are awaiting results of their qualifying examinations will also be
eligible to apply, but the decision on admission to the programme of
study will be subject to the production of mark sheet at the time of
admission.

Campus and Facilities
Accommodation/Hostel Facilities:
There are six
hostels with modern amenities and conveniences. There is a separate
building to house the postgraduate students and staff.
Recreation:
The
University has a wide range of inter-collegiate athletic programs,
the facilities include fitness center, Gymnasium, Tennis Court,
Basket Ball Court, Volleyball court. Various clubs allow the
students to pursue interests and talents. The clubs combine the
development and exercise with competition and enjoyment.
Catering /
Mess:
Catering in
the hostel is vegetarian. The mess is run on dividing system.
Health and
Welfare:
The campus has
a full-time doctor. It has spacious and well-ventilated rooms.
There is a huge play ground & gymnasium too.
Computing:
The State-of-art computer lab provides a high-end computing system
to meet the needs of management students. The students access,
retrieve & process with the support of latest technology in hardware
and software, enhancing the efficiency of the working environment.
The department of Business Administration is getting connected
through Campus Wide Network with ATM (Network Protocol) setup, which
makes easy the Communication of different departments with
Management Block and also support the sharing of files, Internet
Browsing etc. for students. Internet is facilitated through a Leased
Line from BSNL.
Library:
The
Library has to its credit 1,16,935 books on the whole and 2,500 of
Management Books (Books drawn from related disciplines), 30
Management Magazines, 50 Videocassettes and 75 CDs. The internal
atmosphere of the library enables the students to have an open
access to information and paves way for discussions and group
learning.
