southern side, the Amrita Institute of Management (AIM) campus is
serene and beautiful yet vibrant .. indeed an ideal setting for an
educational institution to contribute positively to the development
of the student's personality and spirit. The Institute is situated
just 300 metres away from the Ettimadai Railway Station, 2.5 kms
from NH- 47, 16 kms from Coimbatore City, and 32 kms from downtown
Palakkad.
AIM attaches great significance to the nature of life-style on
campus -- intake of tobacco in any form and any other intoxicants is
strictly prohibited. The serene location, modern amenities and the
presence of a large body of students from sister institutions
provide a distinctive atmosphere to the Ettimadai Campus. While
there are few restraints, one is lightly nudged to be a little
sensitive to the needs of other residents. Students learn to take
care of their personal needs and grow in a conducive environment,
and pay attention to their own self.
HOSTEL : Within its campus the Institute provides separate
singleroom hostel accomodation for men and women students. Students
are provided with modern facilities to make them feel at home. Their
stay at hostel enables them to imbibe different life-styles and
activities including yoga, meditation, sports, musical & cultural
etc., suiting individual tastes and preferences. The two years spent
at the Institute help them to strengthen their character and moral
fibre.
A modern central kitchen operates in the campus. Pure vegetarian
food prepared under hygienic conditions at the central kitchen is
served in the student dining halls and in the canteens.
COMMON AMENITIES CENTER : The common amenities building of
Amrita Institutions has a total carpet area of 450 sq. m. The
various facilities include a medical dispensary, STD booth, polymer
processing center, general store, grocery store, tailoring section,
alumni association offices, dramatics club and photography club.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION : A healthy body houses a healthy mind.
Amrita Institutions encourage the students to be healthy in body,
mind and spirit. Sports and games provide excellent opportunities
for students to interact with each other, develop true sportsmanship
and team-spirit as well as stay healthy. AIM has facilities for
outdoor games like football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, ball
badminton, kabaddi and tennis, and indoor games like badminton,
carrom, table-tennis, chess and weight-lifting. A multigym
consisting of eight stations is available for practice. Two
specially made cricket pitches are available for practice and
matches. Four tennis courts (two synthetic and two clay) are also
available. As part of enhancement of facilities, a new multi-purpose
indoor gymnasium, a standard athletic stadium, additional courts for
volleyball, ball badminton etc. are planned.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES : The Institute encourages students
to engage in various co-curricular activities that help in
developing their creative talents and potential. A number of fora
have come up primarily at the initiative of the students. The
Systems Forum enables students to acquaint themselves with the
latest developments in Information Technology. Colloquiums by
eminent industrial practitioners are held regularly, and serve as
additional inputs complimenting the systems courses
