About the Institute :-
The Rourkela Institute of Management Studies (RIMS) has been active
since its establishment in 1984 in the fields of academics, research,
consultancy, and professional training. Its Amareswar Avasti Research
Centre (AARC), Centre for Human Resource Development (CHRD), and
Corporate Consultancy Cell also promote supportive areas of
activities. Situated advantageously in the industrial capital of
Orissa, RIMS is surrounded by a cluster of industries. It offers
post-graduate programmes in management, computer applications, and
personnel management,. Its objective has been to prepare technically
superior, result-oriented, and dedicated personnel in the field of
management. .

Eligibility
Bachelor's degree in any discipline (or its equivalent) with not
less than 50% marks in aggregate or in Honours.
Fee Structure
Fee payable to
the School is as follows :
Tuition fee per year - Rs. 46,500
All
payments shall be acceptable by Bank Draft only in favour of
Rourkela Institute of Management Studies, payable at Rourkela.
Campus and Facilities
Accommodation/Hostel Facilities :
The institute
has accommodation facilities for the male & female students.
Efforts are being made to make the programme totally residential. *
Separate hostels for boys and girls. * Girls hostel inside the
campus * Hostel has its own mess. * All rooms are with attached
bath. * Girls hostel with a capacity of 60 and boys hostel of 140
Feel home away from home right from the beginning. Hostel fee:
Rs.25,000/- (Rs.12,000/- for accommodation, Rs.12,000/- for fooding
and Rs.1000/- for development).
Recreation :
RIMS provides excellent facilities for games and sports to produce
excellent sportsmen.

Computing :
A
ninety seated modern computer lab with state of art technology to
support a wide range of software platform. E-mail and Internet
facilities are provided to the students and staffs round the clock
through a dedicated lease line from STPI. The laboratory can support
a wide range of software from the basic software like C, c++ to high
end software like Oracle, Visual C++, Peoplesoft etc.
Library :
A
dedicated library building of 12,000 sq.ft. The library has a
comprehensive collection of literature predominantly related to
management, information technology and allied subjects to meet the
present and future information needs of its users. It has 4000
books, 3500 bound volumes, 75 national and international
periodicals, 1000 CD ROM with network station, 500 video cassettes
and 2000 projects/dissertations. RIMS library has a tie up with
British Council Library and IIT, Kharagpur Library for exchanging of
books. It has also a online library subscription from Delnet.
Capital Intellectual: RIMS has twenty full time faculties those
are highly qualified and experienced who stay in touch with current
mgmt. concepts, research activities and IT developments. Out of them
3 are professors, 4 are asst. professors and 13 are lecturers.
Besides our full time faculties many professors ore regularly
visiting RIMS as guest faculties from IIMs, XLRI, NIT-Rourkela,
Bengal Engg. , College, Jadavpur University, Utkal University,
Sambalpur University, IIPM and tycoons from corporate domain.
Faculty Exchange Program: Our faculties very often visit to XLRI,
IIPM, Bengal Engg. College, L. N. Misra-Patna, Jadavpur University,
Utkal University, Berhampur University for sharing academic
excellence.
Academics: Seminars: National and in-house seminars held in
RIMS very regularly Every Saturday the in-house seminar conducted on
different subject related topics by inviting local and regional
chairpersons.
Anubhuti: The program to develop Industry Institute Interaction,
where in corporate icons and future managers interact and share
their views.
Publication: A monthly and a yearly journal namely II Sukaushalam@RIMS
and "Chanakya" respectively published by RIMS.
Student Committees : We have different student Cells like Academic,
Library, Lab., Placement, Publication, Activity, Sports, Seminar,
Event Cells etc. which is man, manned and managed by the students
under the chairmanship of faculty members.
Social Responsibilities: * MDPs & FDPs are conducted
regularly for different corporate and educational institutions,
which can help the professionals to meet the future challenges.
* Many events like women's day, world health day, world population
day etc. to make the students more socially responsible.
* In spite of theirs, RIMS also takes part in felicitating many
dignitaries like Padmashree Late Kelu Charan Mohapatra (the Guru of
Odissi Dance), Dillip Tirkey (Indian Hockey Team Captain), Dr. Ashis
Chand (the Neurosurgeon), etc.
