Campus and Academic Facilities

Accommodation/Hostel Facilities : Residential accommodation for 600 boys is provided in Jamuna and Triveni  hostels. Rooms are equipped with wardrobes, cots, tables and chairs. Girl students have separate hostel accommodation for about 200 girls in Kaveri  hostel. Four dining halls are provided to cater different food tastes of the students. The messes are run on cooperative basis and expenses are shared by all the boarders on no loss no profit basis. Water coolers are provided for drinking water. Solar water heating facility for hot water bath is provided. The hostels are administered by the Senior Wardens and Wardens under guidance of the Principal who acts as the Chief Warden. Wardens visit the hostels on all working days and look after the welfare and discipline of the students. Parents are kept informed of the progress and regularity of the students.

Recreation : Like Painting Club, Literary Club, Photography Club, N.S.S., N.C.C. for the personality development and recreation of the study

Catering / Mess : A canteen located in the campus caters to the needs of students and staff from 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. An open air space with low-grown hedges all around offers a pleasant experience of having snacks and other pleasing menu.

Health and Welfare : Medical facilities are provided to the needy through an in house Dispensary. Health club with all kinds of funa facilities.

Computing : The center was started way back in 1988 with just a few computers and today there are about 170 systems making it one of best of its kind in this part of Maharashtra with total cost of equipment around 60 lakhs.
Wide-spread usage of computers and its importance in Engineering curricula necessitated establishment of sophisticated computing facilities to cater to the needs of various departments. It is our endeavor to provide one computer to one student so that there is ample computer time for the students to augment their theoretical knowledge.
SYSTEMS : The center is equipped with HCL Magnum Mini Computer with 24 terminals providing UNIX environment. Students of various branches are given practical training in languages like C, COBOL, FORTRAN and PASCAL under UNIX environment from second year onwards. Apart from the Mini-computer, four network Servers are available supporting about 60 nodes comprising PCs, PC-ATs and Pentiums. Third year onwards students are encouraged to work under LAN environment to get acquainted with packages like FoxPro and Compilers like Borland C++, Turbo Pascal etc.
Recently Digital and Compaq servers were added for supporting Windows-NT environment apart from SCO open server which was connected to 16 terminals. Two Multimedia kits are also available. Due to inclusion of CAD/CAM as a part of curriculum for Mechanical students, a separate Lab is established with Pentium computers. 
INTERNET : VSAT facility is available to provide INTERNET facility to all the students.
SOFTWARE : The field of computers is witnessing rapid developments in software and hardware and at the same time posing a threat of obsolescence. Hence we have been trying to procure latest software to impart quality training on various packages to meet the requirements of industry. Packages like ORACLE Workgroup server are available under Windows-NT environment and front-end tools like Power Builder, Visual C++, Visual Basic, Developer 2000 etc. are available to design and implement projects. CAD packages like AutoCAD, VIRTUAL ENGINEER etc. are also available for analysis and design o Mechanical Systems as well as Building Plans.
TIMINGS : The center is working in two shifts. It is kept open from 9.00 a.m. till 10.00 p.m. on all working days. During college hours the students are permitted as per the slots indicated in the timetable for various practicals. After that students may work in the computer center. Free access after college hours has evoked good response from the students.
STAFF : The center is adequately staffed with one Programmer and Five Operators who are well qualified and experienced. They are instrumental in developing packages for Library Automation, Maintaining Accounts, Pay-bill and Mess bill calculations, Students and Staff Information System etc.

Library : The total number of books in the library as on date is around 24,500. The budget provision for books is about Rs. 7.50 lakhs per year. Common Wealth Educational Foundation has recognized the Library as one of the recipients to get the donated books from the foundation. Books worth of 1.5 lakhs are donated every year to our library. The library subscribes for about 120 journals and magazines, out o which 20 are International Journals and Magazines. An amount of Rs. 2.50 lakhs is provided for subscribing to journals.
Open Access System: Open access system is followed in the library. This system is universally popular and has been recommended by AICTE. Every reader is free to go around the stocks and can pick out the book of his choice either for reference or for issue.
Issuing Books: Each student can borrow two books at a time and can retain up to a period of 15 days and can renew the same if the book is not in demand by others. Final B.E. students, M.B.A. students and girl students are provided an extra borrower card in view of their needs.
Automation : A software package was developed by the computer center staff in order to meet the requirements of the library. Data base of all the books available was created to automate some of the library activities like 1. Circulation 2. OPAC (On Public Access Catalogue) and 3. Subject Catalogue.
F.T.J.S. : In order to fulfill the requirement of senior staff members interested in research activities we are providing Full Text Journal Service which is offered by INSDOC (Indian National Scientific & Documentation Center), Delhi.
Timings : The library is kept open from 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. on all days except on Wednesdays. During the University examination period the Library works up to 10.00 p.m.
Audiovisual Library : Around 300 Video cassettes have been purchased. Students of various disciplines are allowed to use the cassettes in batches. Students can practice the TOEFL exam pattern in the audiovisual library for successful results in the concerned examination.
