About the Institute:-
SDM Institute for Management Development, (SDM-IMD) Mysore has carved
a niche as the pioneer of management teaching practices. SDM-IMD
possesses more than a decade of experience in setting the standards of
management education. With an ever-growing repertoire of campus
placements, SDM-IMD is considered as an institution that provides
practical managers for improving the effectiveness of organisations.
With a stringent admission process, SDM-IMD filters in only those best
suited as its student managers. The process for the flagship PGDBA
programme is through the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the
IIMs followed by a Managerial Aptitude Screen (MAS). The previous
academic
record of the students also plays a role in the screening process. A
part of the SDM Educational Trust, Ujire, (SDMET), SDM-IMD has its
philosophies concreted with decades of experience. SDMET runs over 35
premium educational institutions including higher education centres in
medical, engineering, dental and management sciences. The trust also
involves itself in charity and social upliftment.

Fee
Structure
The total fee for the two year program is Rs. 2,90,000/- (Rupees Two
Lakh Ninety Thousand only). This is payable in six installments. Each
installment is to be paid prior to the commencement of the term. At
the time of registration, you should pay the first installment fee of
Rs. 50,000/- and a Caution Deposit of Rs. 7,000/- and the subsequent
installment will be paid Rs. 48,000/-. All payments have to be made
either through crossed Demand Draft or local Cheque drawn in favour of
SDM-IMD, payable at Mysore.
On Completion of the course Rs. 6,000/- will be
refunded after deducting dues if any, and Rs. 1,000/- will be retained
by the institution as Alumni Membership fee.
In addition to tuition fee, students will have to pay
Rs. 5,000/- towards the cost of Institute Blazer and Trouser /
Saree, tie and attaché case / bag, along with contribution of an
equity amount of Rs. 100/- (to be adjusted from your caution
deposit) to Suvidha, the students cooperative store, which is managed
by the students themselves. The equity amount will be refunded on
graduation or as decided by the Suvidha Managing Committee.
Hostel Facility:
All students joining the PGDBA programme are mandatorily required
to stay in the Institute's hostel in the campus. The hi-tech state of
the art campus is fully self-contained with all facilities required to
make a residential programme comfortable and successful. All students
are housed in individual rooms with separate hostel blocks for boys
and girls. There is a common vegetarian kitchen and dining area for
students. Apart from this, there are common areas in each floor of the
hostel blocks.
On admission each student will have to pay a sum of Rs. 11,000/-
(Rupees Eleven Thousand only) as rental charges for one year, Rs.
7,000/- as hostel fee (Rs. 5,000/- refundable caution deposit and Rs.
2,000/- non-refundable hostel admission fee) through crossed demand
draft or local cheque drawn in favour of The Director, SDM Hostel,
payable at Mysore.
Mess expenses (varying utility and mess charges on
actual basis) work out to Rs. 1,600/- to 1,800/- per month, payable in
the first week of the following month. A student mess committee
comprising I and II year students under the overall guidance of a
faculty coordinator manages the mess. Decisions on procurement, menu,
etc., are taken entirely by the students. Students also exercise
strict cost control especially on variable items.
Campus and
Academic Facilities
Campus:
The campus
is a first-of-its-kind in the country. An amalgamation of modern
infrastructure with stylized classic architecture makes the setting
perfect for freeing the mind for knowledge absorption. Situated at the
foothills of the scenic Chamundi Hills, the campus can be considered
as technology embodied in the lap of nature.
Verdure:
Green
courtyards welcome the visitor to the tree-lined avenues leading to
the various facilities.
Classrooms:
The
classrooms are designed in such a way as to facilitate customized
attention to each student. Brainstorming is encouraged and practiced
in small alcoves projecting out of these rooms. Facilities in the
classrooms are:

Information
Technology:
Efficient
managers are those who can use technology to mould their businesses
successfully. With continuously upgraded hardware, software and
Communication facilities, SDM-IMD is taking the face of management
into the new era. With a dedicated broadband Internet connection
available on a 24-hour basis, students have access to information at
any instant. Students, faculty and administration are networked with
an internal LAN.
SAP University
Alliance Programme:
As part of its
continued endeavor to ensure that its students are work ready from day
one of Final Placement, SDM-IMD is a member of the Global SAP
University Alliance Programme. Complete access to SAP R/3 is available
on 24x7 basis for faculty and students, with SAP functionalities
integrated into various courses both for concepts and methodology.
Apart from this, students and faculty benefit from access to plug and
play material and research projects and research funding.
Amphitheatre:
With
a seating capacity of over 500, the amphitheatre serves as a platform
for students to display their cultural capabilities. The amphitheatre
is where students relax for an evening of cultural vibrancy and talent
exposition.
Auditorium:
The
auditorium is a spacious hub of discourses, seminars, presentations,
etc. With over-300 seating capacity, the auditorium also serves as a
theatre for management movies. Cultural, educational and recreational
fests continuously take place in the auditorium making the learning
process more fun and interactive.
Hostel:
The SDM-IMD
hostel is a home away from home. With fully furnished single rooms,
lounge / study area, recreational facilities and a common dining area,
the SDM-IMD hostel is a mini world on its own. The other facilities in
the hostel include broadband internet access, housekeeping, dry
cleaning and laundry.
Fitness:
A
spectacular 4000 square foot games block, indoor walking / jogging
track, table tennis courts and a private fitness centre help the
students pursue their favorite sports and help them stay fit and
healthy.

Library:
The Library
is a resource centre for both teaching and learning. Being the heart
of the academic centre, it is home for all information services. With
an aim of providing "Anytime, Anywhere access" to information, the
library contributes and supports SDM-IMD in transforming talent into
business leadership.
Surrounded by nature, the visually pleasing three-tier design makes it
an extension of the classroom. The Library houses a comprehensive
collection of information resources useful for academic and research
purposes, ensuring they meet the present and future needs of its
patrons.
The centre has utilised IT extensively such as OPAC for checking the
availability and reserving documents, access to e-resources and
databases making the SDM-IMD Library user friendly. The Library holds
a hybrid collection of printed as well as e- resources which include
books, journals, databases, AV's, CDs/DVDs, e-books, e-journals,
reports, course materials, case studies, conference proceedings,
training manuals, etc. The library holds over 15000 books, 120 print
journals, provides access to 1100 e-journals, electronic corporate
database, Newspapers and business magazines abstractive database,
database pertaining to case studies and additionally 120 AV resources.
Institutional membership with prominent libraries in Bangalore and
Chennai supports the activities of the library.
Yoga:
Top physical
and emotional fitness is a pre-requisite for performance in today's
hectic globalised environment. Practice of Yoga and Meditation is thus
a practical and Value added solution to address this need. Visioning
this the Institute has made YOGA & MEDITATION CLASSES COMPULSORY to

He has wide-ranging experience in both the corporate sector and
in academics. After graduating from IIM-A, he worked in various
leading companies for thirty-one years. Simultaneously he also
taught management in business schools. His specialization is in
the area of Operations Management and General Management. Before
joining SDM-IMD he was Vice President - Operations with Sanmar
Engineering Corporation, Chennai. During his career in industry,
he taught in KIMS, Karnataka University as a guest faculty. He
has served as a member on several panels of Karnataka Chamber of
Commerce and Karnataka University. Also he is a Fellow Member of
Institute of Engineers, All India Management Association and the
Dignity Foundation. |
M.J. Arul
Ph.D. |
He is a certified trainer of The Human Element in Organisations.
He carries with him over 30 years of experience in management
education and executive development, spanning across
IIM-Ahmedabad, IRMA-Anand and SP Jain-Mumbai. He was Dean of
Management Studies at Presidency College, Bangalore, before
joining SDM-IMD. His interests include communication,
interpersonal needs and team development. |

Technology Panel, Business Operations and Management Panel and

In SDM-IMD, Mysore from the past 4 years, she has been teaching
various courses. She was Academic Head, Aptech Computer
Education, Mysore. She has been guiding students in various
projects. She has worked as software engineer in the industry,
developing and designing web-enabled applications. She has
worked as consultant for M/s. Prosperity Marketing Services Pvt
Ltd., She was in charge of Software Configuration Management,
Requirements Gathering and Design Documentation. She was in
Aztec Software technologies and services as Product Analyst for
an Off-Shore Development Center of Dendrite, based in USA.

He has wide range experience in teaching, consulting, and
training and spent around 7 years in corporate life at various
levels. He also currently consults various companies on the
general management and core HR issues.
He is a trainer by himself and trained more than 1000+ people on
Selling Skills, Customer Care Skills and various management
development programs, He was heading the training department in
Aircel and played a key role in setting up the customer care
department in terms of recruitment, induction and training them
to face the challenge of the customer care functions.
He also worked in two other IT industries as head of HR and
played an anchor role in setting the HR Systems and Processes.
He extensively involved in recruitment of IT professional for
the US clients in the IT industry.
Training and Development is being his forte, he has enormous
interest in Organization Development interventions, and
behavioral science based training and interventions. He has done
Competency Mapping through Development Center for 1000+
employees in ING Vysya Bank during his tenure as Senior Manager
HR.
His passion is Change Management and involved in major change
management exercise in ING Vysya Bank as key team member. His
other area of interest is Talent Management. He had been invited
as a Guest Speaker by Asia Business Forum to address the Asian
region HR managers on Talent management in Kuala Lumpur in
Malaysia. Also, his paper titled HR STRATEGY TO OPTIMIZE HUMAN
CAPITAL AN INTEGRATED APPROACH THROUGH TALENT MANAGEMENT, was
accepted in an international conference at Macau in China in the
year 2003 and he presented the same in the conference.
This year his paper on "Redefining motivation paradigms for
performance Excellence" is under review in the international
IFTDO conference to be held in Cairo, Egypt. " |
Neetu Ganapathy

the areas of soft skills and IT. Her first assignment was with
Aptech Computer Education, Mysore, where she taught IT and
worked in various capacities, including as Group Leader and

College, Mysore. She has recorded programs on IT, with EMMRC,
Mysore, which are to be telecast on the UGC Countrywide

Directed and coordinated many IT projects, including Indian
Railways Passenger Reservation System. Designed and conducted

Information Systems Audit, Security, and Control, at IIMA, TISS,

Technology and Management- Warangal centre. After completing his
doctoral coursework with IIT Roorkee, he is currently pursuing
his thesis on part- time basis. He served as a teaching
assistant at IIT Bombay for three semesters and as a MHRD
Institute Assistant at IIT Roorkee for a semester. Lately, he
has been recognized as a successful Indian alumnus by his
England alma mater, Southampton Institute, England, where he
pursued a five-month full-time Post Graduate Certificate in
Management on a full scholarship. His areas are human resources,
organizational behaviour and communication. |

to framing of MOUs, proposals for new units, Project Appraisal,
Financial Planning etc. Teaching experience at local chapters of
ICWAI and ICAI, Bangalore. Special areas in SDM-IMD include
Project Appraisal, Corporate Finance, Derivatives & Risk Mgmt. |
Vinod Madhavan

Over eight years of experience in both industry and academics,
specialising in the area of Marketing. He is an accomplished
trainer in the area of sales and distribution management and
CRM. Presently he is pursuing his PhD in the area of Economics
from the Karnatak University, Dharwad. His area of work is
related to the formats and break-even points of organized food
retail. He is also the recipient of the prestigious CII
Industrial Fellowship Award wherein he has worked with FoodWorld
Supermarkets Pvt Ltd to develop their supply chain. Prior to his
academic venture, he headed sales in South India for Mobil
Peeves Ltd (A unit of ExxonMobil, USA). He has published five
papers in the area of marketing management and has presented a
paper on Business Ethics at IIM, Bangalore. He has conducted
over sixty training programs in the area of sales and dealer
management for the Kirloskar Group (Kirloskar Oil Engines,
Kirloskar Copeland Ltd, Kirloskar Pneumatics Ltd), Atlas Copco,
West Coast Paper Mills, Jindal Vijayanagar Steel Ltd and Cummins
