About the Institute :-

The University Business School of the Panjab University has been imparting quality management education for about three decades to develop innovative and effective managers, researchers, and teachers.  The School, well equipped with trained faculty and modern teaching devices, has been recognized by the University Grants Commission for contributions to important thrust areas. Recently it has signed an MOU with the University of Manitoba,Canada to make further impacts.  The School has special seats for foreign/NRI/NRI sponsored students. Besides MBA, it also offers Ph.D. programme in Management and Commerce.

Eligibility

A Bachelor's/Post graduate degree in any discipline of the University or a degree of any other university which has been recognised by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate. Provided that in case of candidates having Bachelor's degree of the University through Modern Indian Languages [Hindi/Urdu/Punjabi (Gurmukhi Script) and/or in a Classical Language (Sanskrit/Persian/Arabic) or degree of any other University obtained in the same manner recognised by the Syndicate; 50% marks in the aggregate shall be calculated by taking into account full percentage of marks in all the papers in Language excluding the additional paper. English and the elective subject taken together.
                                                              OR
A pass in the final examination conducted by either of the (a) Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or England, (b) Institute of Cost and works Accountants of India or England, and (c) Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
                                                               OR
AMIE examination with 50% marks or more after having passed the diploma examination with 60% marks or above and have at least 5 years research/teaching or professional experience.

 

Selection Procedure

Step 1

How  to  apply
The eligibility of a candidate will be provisional at every successive stage of admission process.  It wil be responsibility of the candidate to make sure about his/her eligibility and fulfillment of various conditions for admission as prescribed in the Rules/Regulations of the University.  Admission will be cancelled at any stage in case the candidate is not found eligible.  Last date for submission of completed forms to Assistant Registrar, UBS, Panjab University, Chandigargh.

Step 2

Entrance Test
Students are admitted on the basis of entrance test conducted by CAT from all areas Engineering, Science, Commerce, Arts, Computer.

Step 3

Group Discussion and Viva-Voce
The group discussion and personal interview of all the selected candidates will take place at University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigargh where the candidates will have to come at their own cost.
Note : Foreign/NRI/NRI sponsored candidates unable to avail of the above admission process will be required to submit scores of GMAT, Princeton which will be treated at par with the combined score of written test, (CAT) group discussion and personal interview conducted by Panjab University

 

 

Fee Structure

Fee payable to the School is as follows :

Tuition fee per year -US $5,000 (Foreign/NRI/NRI sponsored candidates)
Registration fees - $300  (for those who passed the qualifying exam other than from Panjab University)
 

 

Campus and Facilities

Accommodation / Hostel Facilities : Hostel Boys - 8, Hostel Girls - 6

Recreation : The campus has an open air theatre, a swimming pool, a fully equipped Gymnasium hall, excellent hostel facilities, a student health centre, and sports utilities including tennis courts and soccer fields etc.

Catering / Mess : Catering facilities are provided in hostels.

Health and Welfare : The  Institute  has health Centre at Campus having 10 Doctors & CMO Information Bureau,

Computing  : Computers form an integral part of the learning system.  The school is equipped with the latest technology, having a network of 45 computers (P-II), multimedia and internet connectivity. Classrooms are connected through LAN and computers are regularly used in the teaching process. Internet access is provided to the students 24 hours a day to enable them to update themselves with the latest in their fields of interest.

Library : The University boasts of a wellstocked, centrally air conditioned library offering more than half a million volumes.  It is reputed for having a collection of rare books and journals as well as being the subscriber to latest journals.  The Department has its own library catering to the needs of the management students.  It subscribes to various economic and business journals and newspapers. HBR, CMR, CJWB, Finances and Development etc. are some of the internationally acclaimed journals that find a place on the shelves of the library.  The library houses 8000 titles and 136 journals, including 44 international journals.
